A Well Of Wisdom Shared At The Slay Festival In Johannesburg

The Slay Festival is an mastermind event orchestrated by a digital and lifestyle company called, She Leads Africa that has a sole purpose of empowering African women with practical career and business practices and advice.

She Leads Africa partnered with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), in bringing the popular innovation and culture event, SLAY Festival to South Africa for the first time on Saturday, the 7thof March 2020 at 1 Fox in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Having launched three, years ago, more than 5,000 women have come together to learn new skills, build their network and connect with their favourite brands at the fun and relaxed festival that happens around Africa. This year the festival featured inspirational speakers, engaging brand activations, career and business mentorship, networking and shopping from budding young entrepreneurs.

Attendees gained access to, and learn from top brands such as Dark and Lovely, Women Will Africa, a Google initiative, Glade South Africa and TRACE.

It’s no secret that being a ‘Boss Babe’ can be tiring and overwhelming, and often require a bit of support here and there. It is for that reason that events like Slay Festival take place. To find yourself in a room full of like-minded ladies, whom we can lean on, and find the strength to power through life

In thisone-day event, hundreds of young professionals and business owners were brought together to network, share experiences, and learn from each other and rub should with the ‘whose who’ in the industry like Bonang Matheba, Ayanda Thabethe, Candice Modiselle, Dr Nokukhanya Khnayile and Zulaikha Patel to name a few.
