SPORTS: 2020 FC Become The New Favourites As They Soar Through Their Local Tournaments

Kwa-Mashu young boys have come together to create a soccer team named 2020 FC. Formed earlier this year, the young team has been involved in a number of local tournaments in Kwa-Mashu and neigbouring suburbs since they started out.

The team has since been playing in a tournament with Vela FC at the Kwa-Mashu hostel, A section a few days back bagging two goals to nil (2-0) against Vela FC. The goals were scored by Selo in the first half as a free kick and later in the second half Philani scored another goal for the team.

The tournaments will be played through out the year with games taking place on weekends only. When speaking to MlungisiThe Captain and playing Middlefield he told us that their games were pretty awesome. They have lost some and won some. But the main aim was to have a good time and enjoy the games. “Some games gave us pressure to move on to the next round, so we had to work extra hard to make sure we won those games,” said Mlungisi.

He continued to tell us that since their culture as a team is to entertain people and show them a good time and Game, they are always up for a few show off and dribbling to add that zest to the game.

2020 FC will be playing more games in the future – and we will sure be there to document the young boys’ success and update & report to you on their latest games and sports fixtures.
